We have a team of Gib.Stoppers and Fibrous Plasterers who work on commercial and residential projects ranging from office developments to repairing holes in walls of private homes. We supply, install and stop fibrous and plasterboard products throughout Otago.

Stopping Levels

• Level 1 - taped - suitable for areas not exposed to view.
• Level 2 - taped and first filled - suitable for areas not exposed to view or covered by andother lining or heavy vinyl.
• Level 3 - taped, first & second filled - suitable for receiving a wallpaper, fabric, vinyl finish.
• Level 4 - taped, first, second & third filled - suitable for paint finish.
• Level 5 - taped, first, second, third filled and skim coated -suitable for paint finish, particularly in critical light areas, feature walls & high gloss finishes.

Our staff can provide all the above finishes. Critical lighting is where you have natural or artificial lighting shining across the gib surface i.e. up-lighting on walls, windows with head at ceiling height, windows positioned directly adjacent to a wall surface.

Skim coating previously wallpapered walls for a paint finish - This is commonly requested and can be difficult to achieve to the required finish. Once the wallpaper is removed the wall is sanded, joints if cracked are taped and re-stopped. A coat of pigmented sealer applied prior to the skim coat of plaster. The wall can then be sealed and painted. However due to the nature of old wall linings and earlier building techniques there are no guarantees. Gib Plaster products like paint are only thin layers and will follow the plane of the wall lining.

Fibrous Plaster

• From 2" cornices to 8" cornices our staff can supply, fix and stop these for you. A great way to enhance your lounge/living room. Timeless Elegance.
