James Wren & Co Ltd is a name well known in Dunedin. The company focuses largely on contracting namely Painting, Plastering & Tiling, but also has a Resene Colourshop in Mosgiel and is the PPG Platinum Distributor for Otago. We have been providing top quality service since 1896.

Our contracting division is one of the South Island’s largest for painting, decorating, plastering and tiling. We cover commercial, industrial and residential work, from large industrial projects to small repairs in private homes.

We are members of the Master Painters & Master Plasterers of New Zealand and approved applicators of Equus, Nuplex, Dulux Acratex, Zolatone, Intumescent Coatings, Rockcote and Insulclad.

With over 100 years of business it's not surprising that Wrens is a business with an interesting history. Not only did we survive through two world wars and the Great Depression but we have literally made our mark on thousands of Dunedin buildings.

Over the past century Wrens, which now uses and sells upwards of 80,000 litres of paint a year, has worked on its fair share of unconventional projects, including movie sets, boats and exclusive lodges.
